I've only chanced upon Music in the Hall very recently, but I'm sure some of you will be well aware of it. It looks an excellent project to me - and an interesting approach to making music. Here's how they explain it: It's where the great Kenny Brown footage in this thread came from. They have a lot of other stuff, including Gary Burnside, Alvin Youngblood Hart (on his own, and in the South Memphis String Band), Pokey LaFarge - and on that basis, definitely worth a rummage around at the rest. Here's a link to their homepage - and here's one of the videos:

Yes, the alvin one is amazing. I like luther usually, but I don't like this one much, nor his guitar! TT

Have to say, I've been greatly and frequently enjoying the Music in the Hall stuff featuring Alvin Youngblood Hart, think I'm going to have to invest in some of his CDs. Here are two sets from MitH - first AYH on his own, and then the South Memphis String Band (AYH, Jimbo Mathus & Luther Dickinson + an unnamed bass player).
Edit: Oh! I see they won't play here - but as they'll click through ok, I'll leave it as is)

Big mamas door and down in the alley are his best two from a purist perspective. He likes to branch out into electric and rock stuff but those two CDs are very delta.
I'd love to see him play and am jealous of the folks at the port Townsend blues camp who have had him as a tutor

Nothing posted since 2013, some links not working, emails not responded to. An interesting project that seems to have floundered.

I think I must have been too busy admiring the project and enjoying the output to notice the project had stalled. I really thought (hoped?) they might have found a model that worked. Even so, they made some excellent footage available - I had their youtube thing doing 'play all' on the tv yesterday, between me and "Mrs bod" we enjoyed pretty much everything on there!
