I also own a Honeydipper. Squareneck.
This is about the third damaged cone I have heard about. Apparently this guitar does not take shipping very well. Maybe, the same guitar three times!
My nut was poorly cut. I think the quality control in the Gretch is not the best. I broke my my bridge changing strings. It is important on this guitar to change strings one or two at a time to keep the cone in place. My bridge was defective.
A professional Luther straightened mine out.
As I assume you will be doing this yourself, I would buy a cone, biscuit and pre cut bridge. My Luther made mine using the origional biscuit and a custom made bridge. He installed a Quarterman cone. It is better. Frank Harlow, the Luther, is friends with Mr. Quarterman. So he went direct which I assume you cannot.
Elderly folks are good people to deal with if they could ship to you. Probably Beard, reso phonic outfitters, are good guys.
All the extra maybe biscuit etc. Is "just in case" as you are off the beaten path. The old one might work. Also it could be shortened.

They have those guitars built as cheaply as possible in vast quantities with very little attention to quality control beyond cosmetic stuff.

Hello again guys, Thank you for the great tips! as I mentioned I have a "Gretsch Honey dripper", my cone has collapsed and Im looking to buy a new one I contacted Gretsch and they do not have this cone (0097091000 - CONE BISCUIT CONTL G9201, G9240 ROOTS - $62.99) in stock till may 2017 so Im concidering other options like ..- themusicmotel.com/product/replogle-resonators-biscuit-cone-9-12/So , my questions is - Do you think its a good idea to swap a cone which is not the original gretsch cone? I just want is to sound good, and not exprienced cone swap before.. Tnx best regards T

Hello Sarchendote,
The cone that you have found is not any good at all. Don't waste your money. You need a Continental cone, or a National cone. No other cone will sound any good. The one you have seen is too heavy and it has no spirals, so it will sound dull and not very resonant.
