If anyone is looking for a decent luther for a guitar restoration I can recommend Kenji Okumura, I have just drop a guitar off with him and he mentioned he is keen to do a few more restorations next year He has done a great job on a few of my guitars, his attention to detail is amazing, and he is also very reasonably priced compared to other luthiers I got quotes from. His workshop is in battersea London www.okumuraguitars.com/Attachments:

Absolutely a great contact. Kenji has just finished working on 3 of my wood bodied guitars and they are playing better than ever.
Not expensive either.
Good call Jamie.
PS: how's the Triolian in its new home?

I spent the afternoon with Kenji on Sunday , he is such a generous fellow I thought I would share his details with the forum. he spends so much time doing such a good job , it's that Japanese attention to detail

Hi Jamie,
I've had a 00028 for the last several years plus a Guild F50 both of which have always played very nicely. Having seen how well Kenji set up the Gibson L00 I bought from you, I decided to get both guitars set up the same way. The results are unbelievable. Just when you think a guitar is great, someone like Kenji makes it even better.
Regards,
Chris

He is doing a renovation on a guild F50 at the moment, I don't know anything about this guitar. the guitar is laminated back and sides but solid top. Was it played by someone does this particular model have a story? The guitar he showed me had it's top removed so I didn't get to hear what it sounded like. Does it have a unique sound?

I saw that guitar when I took my Guild to his workshop. Its the same model as mine, early 70's. Great sounding guitars just a little on the large size; a bit like Gibson J200 only a bit sweeter IMO.
Th one Kenji is now repairing has been gigged pretty hard and needs a lot of work.
Unique sound?
Hell yes!

Here is the link to kenji's blog he has just started to add a few pictures of some of the jobs he has been doing recently , the kg14 is my guitar. I think he is planning to put a few photos of the builds he is doing. He is doing an L00 and a 00 at the moment. It is really interesting seeing them come together. okumuraguitars.tumblr.com/
