Does anyone have any sound clips or videos comparing the lightning and the busker deco? It would be great if someone owns both and could post soundclips of them to allow a direct sound comparison I'm trying to choose between the two and read great things about the sound of both, but it would be good to hear these clips to help the final choice. Thanks Steve

Hi Steve,
The MM Lightning is a brass bodied single cone National-style guitar and the Busker Deco is a brass bodied Tricone National-style guitar. There is no comparison because the two instruments are totally different. The main difference is in the sound of three cones versus one, but also the neck width is different and the whole feel of playing a Tricone is a different experience to playing a single cone.
I would work out whether you want a single cone or a Tricone, then decide which of the brands of that model you will buy.
Thank you for your interest in MM guitars

I guess I'm at the point of listening to tricones and single cones to figure out if the extra warmth and sustain of the tricone is for me or if the attack of a single cone would be better. I'm unlikely to get a chance to try out the guitars before buying so the sound clips would be really helpful. Thanks Steve

Hi Steve I dont know where you live, but there may be a hobgoblin store near you. The one in Bristol had a whole bunch of dobros, biscuits and tricones - some NRP guitars too. TT

Steve
I think there are separate sound clips on YouTube but its different players, different picks and types of slides etc (I am not smart enough to post links).
If you are near Pocklington in November,I will have my Lightening with me and you are welcome to have a shot if that helps.
Kind regards Steve
P.S. it's not for sale I like it far too much.

Michael,
You mention that there is a difference in neck width. I have owned both an NRP M2, and Tricone, but one of the reasons I am currently resonator-less was the neck width. They were manageable, but I believe an guitar should be comfy. Anyway, I thought the Lightning/Blues and Deco had the same neck width, but it seems not. Could you please reveal the neck widths of these models?
Spats.
