That why they call it a bridge. Because it looks like part of a guitar! PT

....Continuing on from where I left off in a previous post.... Pierre Avocat started making National style resonator guitars in 1983. He got the idea from reading an interview with John Dopyera in Tom Wheeler's book 'American Guitars, An Illustrated History'. In 1983, Pierre was ahead of everybody and started making very well built duo-cone resonator guitars. Here is the first prototype he built and also his design drawings...... Thank for that MM, I think my bridge/cone-link maybe better than Pierre, hard to know exactly whats `under the hood`. Time will tell PT

It`s has yet to have the final cones, nut, bridge, coverplate or strings and tail/p. , but it does now make a noise ! PT It lacks the power of a single resonator, but has much better sustain. A more `Dobroish` tone

Pete, well done! I look forward to hearing it. What you say about the volume and punch is understandable, that may be to do with the amount of holes in the top. Resonator guitars all sound more controlled and more punchy with the coverplate on, whereas yours is in effect....without a coverplate. I am sure it would sound better with the front closed up, especially over the cones. .....? Shine On Michael

I already have a 12st reso which should be enough for anyone. Also it is set-up for 6 and I would have to do some radical neck angle changes. PT And yes , the final cover will cover more of the cones.

Well it now has a clear plastic cover, and sounds very sweet. not as loud as a Dobro, but similar tone. I may take more weight off the bridge and see if it gets louder. PT
