Happy birthday to Mr Buddy Guy 78 today. I once heard a rumour that Buddy Guy doesn't play slide guitar because the world would implode because of such awesomeness.
Only ever seen him once in 2003 at the Shepherds bush empire, brilliant day for two reasons.. 1- Had Pie n' Mash at Cooke's on Goldhawk road. 2- Went to see Buddy Guy.

I remember seeing Buddy Guy when he was one of the young Chicago Blues players.
You'll have to search hard to find a better film clip of Buddy than this one...
'First Time I met The Blues' ....The Chicago Blues 1970
Happy Birthday Buddy Guy!

Brilliant clip Michael, the guy is amazing. When I saw him that time everything about that gig blew me away and when he hung around for almost half hour or so signing items people had brought along.
I'm getting all excited again just thinking of that gig!

I have seen BG a few times over the years and been on the same bill a couple of times. One particular memorable show was Buddy Guy & Junior Wells at a WOMAD Blues festival in the mid 80s, they were just superb together.
If you haven't seen that film, The Chicago Blues, you should!
Shine On Michael.

Just love how his physical expressions match his musical expressions! Really wears his blues.
Nice bit of acoustic Buddy here.
