The Greenfield brothers were cabinet makers in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in the 1920s and early 1930s. During the Hawaiian craze, starting in 1926, they made several models of guitar for Hawaiian style playing. I have just put together a basic page on them and their instruments, it is found at: www.notecannons.com/Greenfieldguitars/index.htmPlease take a look, and if you can add to the page or have any info, either post here or via the link on the page. Aloha and Mahalo! Colin

Hi Colin McC
Thanks for letting us see these! I've been curious about Greenfields for years. What do they sound like?

Ooooh....... nice!
I think I'm going to have to make one of those double sixes. Perhaps without the light bulb, though.

But the bulb is the final touch! Michael Dunn told me he took it to play at an outside festival in Seattle once, and in the evening plugged it in. The crowd loved the effect but within minutes he could hardly see to play for the cloud of midges and flying critters that were heading for the light! I've added USA patents, more pics and info today, so please keep on looking at the page as it changes. www.notecannons.com/Greenfieldguitars/index.htm

Since posting the page I've had several emails both from owners (including Ben Harper) and interested folk. I hope to be geting a scan of the sales brochure 'real soon now' and will add it as soon as I have it. I also heard from another owner with log 'TWO' in the USA. Michael, see you soon!
