Slide496: no didn't get to speak with Kenny, did video one of his songs and will upload a link to it. Played standard R L fare. The Cat Head stage had a hill country theme with Kenny and various Burnsides and Kimboroughs playing for most of the day.
Pete was jamming with Jimmy 'Duck' Holmes at the Blue Front Cafe in Bentonia. It's been a Juke Joint for yonks. Jimmy has run it since 1970 and his parents before that.
SoloBill: bought an air ticket, rented a car and made it up as we went along really. It's just more flexible that way.
Deuce: Very run down, but only had concerns for safety in one place. Once they knew we were English both blacks and whites were friendly.

Have uploaded some vids, not very good quality but will give you a feel for it. leo 'bud' welch @ club 2000 - woke up this morning Kenny Brown @ Cat Head Hill Country Blues stage Christone 'Kingfish' ingram - woke up this morning (coincidence). This kid is a native of Clarksdale and 16 or 17! Have also nicked some of Pete's photos for my album, just to prove I was there :-) www.flickr.com/photos/ken-clark/sets/72157652326605801/

The 'kingfish' kid is great - so is his drummer. TT

Kingfish is paying his dues. Great Stuff - showmanship, dynamics and a wonderful rhythm section. (IMHO, of course).
Is that a sleeping possum in the bass drum?

The JukeJoint Fest. was very good. If anyone is thinking of going next year book now. Ken tried early in the year and they were fully booked. We were not too far away, but staying in Clarksdale would be fun. PT
