I notice that the line up for this does not include a single blues act by any reasonable interpretation of what is blues..........

I see what you mean, I`d have thought they could have at least one electric band ( most Heavy Metal is just blues with the volume up to 10...11 for Spinal Tap fans). PT Though Van the Man has a history of playing blues
PS; Did you know, Van Morrison was born in a gym And Jim Morrison was born in a van? (How I wish that were true)

On a similar note, the rory gallagher festival at ballyshannon has quite a lot of bands who will play no rory gallagher stuff. Including mungo jerry. My services were not required..... TT

I take your point about the gap between event name and line up entirely, but (being somewhat literal-minded and a trained pedant), I can't quite help asking: are you not counting Mud Morganfield because a) he is not playing the evening / main venue event or b) you hold that any interpretation of what is blues that includes him is unreasonable (or c) you didn't notice him)?

Didn`t find any Mud M on the `Bluesfest` website , Shame if there is only a `token` blues band added to a list of `pop` bands. PT PS:the Ballyshannon `Roryfest` (apart from Mungo Jerry, who for all I know after 40years might now be a blues band) looks like a lot of high octane blues/rock, so nothing to moan about there Just looked at www.bluesfest.uk , no Mud on the poster or listings as yet, maybe he will be the new singer with Level 42, when the open the show on the Sunday??

Job here for advertising standards people I think. I really don't understand the thinking behind this, or even if there is any. The headline acts are all fine performers but not, even by the most liberal definition, Blues. gsgarrymsmith.wix.com/theslideguy
