Will be interested to see what they go for.Living in the easterly end of Suffolk there is no way that I could get to see them & the condition report I got was quite vague.

Nice one Chris. Not too far from me - maybe have a sneaky bid at about £150. It looks to me that premium and VAT is maximum 24%? TT

looks like a neck re-set would be needed on the national, the action looks extremely high on the side-on pics. Beautiful guitar though!

I like the look of the fiddle edge Dobro but it looks like the neck has taken a hit, that,s a shame, and would add another four hundred or so.

I ha\ve a feeling that they are not going to go cheap, last Duolian I saw in an auction(needed a neck set, splits in the fingerboard, painted with Hamerite & a couple of small splits went for £1300+ buyers fee(but you never know)I have seen guitars that were held together with wood screws and wood filler go for more than I would have paid for perfect.Auction condition reports are so vague that if you are buying at a distance you dont know what you are getting

Well, I bought 'em both and it was really good fun. I'd set my max at £1600 for the Duolian and £800 for the Dobro, and they came out at £1500 and £900 plus the Seller's premium. That makes them £1,960 and £1,116. Whether that's cheap, dear ,or what I have no idea but they're both very nice unspoilt guitars in original cases. The Headstock on the Dobro has been apart exactly where the graft is, so thankfully it hasn't been smashed, just glued back together a bit clumsily. It looks to have been re-fretted, either that or only played lap style. Both have a slight bow in the neck, and the Duolian will need a neck re-set as there's no break angle at all over the bridge. We'll straighten the neck first and see how it looks. The Duolian is 100% original with original varnish on the neck and a nice decal. It's also got a perfect original case which is great. Cheers all

The Duolian in number C9706 and has rolled F Holes, which makes it around 1935 I think. I've got Mark's book at home up North so I can have a good study when I get back.
Thanks again Chris, PM me your address.
