As I am sure many forums members already know, Lucy Zirins' debut album, 'Chasing Clocks', produced by yours truly, was released on Monday 25th March! The album was recorded live on to 8 track tape at the now legendary Toe Rag Studio in London, and as well as twelve original Lucy Zirins songs, it features some of the finest musicians in Britain..... Lucy Zirins - vocals and guitar Emily Burridge - cello BJ Cole - pedal steel guitar Maddy Read Clarke - backing vocals Richard Causon - piano, Wurlitzer, harmonium JC Grimshaw - mandolin, mandola, guitar, harmonica Andy Crowdy - upright bass Simon Price - drums, percussion Produced by Michael Messer Co-Produced & recorded by Liam Watson The album is getting some great reviews and lots of radio airplay. I wish Lucy lots of success with 'Chasing Clocks'. Here is a little iMovie that Lucy put together for her Facebook page... The album is available from iTunes, Amazon and all the usual online outlets, and direct from Lucy at www.lucyzirins.com Shine On Michael

Hi Michael and all,
Yes, I got mine last weekend. It's full of strong songs and the production gives it a feel all of it's own, an immediacy that helps the listener connect. Lucy's vocals are prominent and the instruments (notably the pedal steel guitar and the drums) step to the fore at just the right time to reinforce the feel.

Thanks Triconehead, much appreciated! You can't beat a group of great musicians playing together in a room together and being recorded by a master engineer. It is not the equipment (although the equipment does add character and vibe), it is the people.
Lucy is doing really well getting known in the industry, and it is wonderful to see. She is a very talented artist.

Most welcome MIchael! As experienced from both sides of the desk I know the importance of the right producer. It´s a thin line between just another record or the record.

Thanks Triconehead. What you said is absolutely right. A lot of artists could make much better albums if they worked with the right producer, and visa versa. The producer needs a great artist to be able to make a great record. I always try for THE record.

In a word, WOW! One simply must support talent like this when it rises so far above today's pop sludge. I just ordered my CD from Lucy's web site. This talented young lady has certainly maintained her ascent since I last checked in. The new album sounds gorgeous on the video; congrats to Lucy, Michael, and all involved. Go Lucy!
