Hi Gaucho,
If you can, you might want to check whether the white binding distress means that the glue has dried out and the top and back are starting to separate from the sides, the tuners on the other side, a shot of the bottom where the bridge is fixed to the resonator, if there are any cracks there or cracks on sides and whether you want to deal with any of that . And a shot of the neck from the side and top to see if its twisted and the action. It looks risky to me but others might feel otherwise.
Good luck. Peace, Harriet

It's supposedly all original and in solid shape. No cracks or separations. I've asked for a shot of the neck/body join and the string height at the 12th fret. The "binding" on these was actually just painted on. It's in a guitar shop and will supposedly be thoroughly checked out before it's shipped...

Hi Gaucho, I thought it was painted, sorry I said binding. Even if it does separate in that area it is easy to fix with titebond and clamps, all of mine with painted binding that were chipped that way either separated in spots, some I would fix and two days later something would show up
Peace, Harriet

Hi Gaucho,
As an all original instrument it is priced about right. The difficulty is assessing whether it is any good or not. It certainly looks clean. One of the problems with this particular model is the playability, it can be hard to get them playing well.

This guitar does not have a neck stick. The neck joint is a dovetail. It also doesn't have a soundwell. As a result, many of them are badly in need of a neck set due to the pull of the strings and the large hole in the unsupported top.

Nice guitar! Mostly these Regal made instruments have a half neck-stick. The neck angle can be somewhat adjusted by the shims under the neck-stick.. And they CAN sound great! Not all does but a lot of them. Mine got nice blues tone I think, will be featured on one song on my coming album. Go for it!! ;D No soundwell..

Great info! I was not aware of the lack of a neckstick and soundwell. That may be a deal breaker on an instrument I'd be buying sight-unseen. Are all the Dobro/Regal Model 19's built this way?

But there is a neck stick, half at least.. Makes it easy to adjust the angle too!

I have found that when there are no position markers past the twelfth fret, that the neck is attached with a dovetail and the fretboard is glued to the top. John has an example of a neck-stick in one of these models. But, I would think that his guitar has the traditional five position markers past the twelfth fret, where the fretboard is screwed to the top.
These guitars were built both ways, but I think the greater percentage of them were built with a dovetail neck joint.

I've found that Regal made low budget reso's like this one have the half neck stick. Cheapo's and faux-bro's made by Harmony and others have the neck block/dovetail joint.
Would be interesting to see pics showing Regals with the dovetail, rbe? Always awesome to learn new things about reso's!!
Maybe somebody here on this forum can check their Regal reso's and see what neck joint there is? Would be great!

Here is a picture Johan. Taken inside my Regal "no model number" 1941. I've had another Regal (Wards) with the same neck-block. Attachments:

Nice, Tore!!! Do you have a photo of that guitar from the outside too?Would be great as a reference!! Thanks! This is why I love the internet, knowledge and learning becomes so easy and sharing images etc.. I've seen many of these Regal made Dobro's and all have had the half neckstick. Maybe all had the 5 dots at the end of the fingerboard too, can't remember.. Mine pictured above have the 5 dots..

Photo of Regal "unknown model number" (Gruhn's guide) I've also noticed that both Regals I've had didn't have the 5 dots at the end of the fingerboard. Attachments:
