cool - if you don't mind me asking what is the wood colored one? Don't recognize the headstock. Is that wood or painted metal?
Peace, Harriet

Hi Harriet, I should be able to reply myself : it's a beautiful NRP Radiotone maple guitar. It's the first, and coolest version: non bendaway. Gaucho: WHAT have you done to that guitar? It looks more vintage than the Duolian!!!

Which guitar, the Radio Tone? I got that from a professional musician and it's definitely road worn. I also got the cigar box from him. When I went to get the cigar box he showed me the Radio Tone. I wasn't really interested because of the condition (it's totally solid, just worn) and because I hate that headstock. I also wasn't looking for another reso. But I played it and the tone just floored me! I didn't buy it then but the memory of that tone kept eating away at me. He emailed me later and made me an incredible offer (basically sold it to me for what the Highlander PU it has in it and it's installation cost). I couldn't pass it up. I like the wear, as a '92 I guess it classifies as vintage and the headstock has grown on me (still like slot heads tho). I have another musician friend (Southside Lenny on You Tube, I got the Duolian from him) who has owned many Nationals and he says that Radio Tone sounds the best of any he's had or played.

I love the radiotone headstock - the whole instrument looks special to me, congratulations on getting it.

Nice family photo!
Those early NRP wood-bodied guitars - Radiotone, Jazz Blues & Islander, are good instruments. That one has definitely seen some action

Minolian? Never had one of those. I figured you'd be asking why no spider. I've had 3, including a high end Dobro and a Gold Tone. I like 'em a lot and will probably end up with another (probably a square neck and I really like those simple, vintage Model 19s) at some point. I'm always trading off instruments....

What's the one in your avatar in that site where "resonator players like to hang around"?

Oh yeah, forgot about that one. It's actually a Resolian (i think the minolians are wood bodies). That was actually a good sounding guitar. Traded it for the Supertone 1920's parlor in the photo. I would never have gotten rid of that if I hadn't come across the metal bodied Nationals I found. I have never had any luck posting an avatar pic on this site. Tried several times...
