I have a permanent search running on Google for anything that contains the words "National Guitar" & this article appeared today. I haven't heard of Steven Finn before, and living in Canada I'm not likely to see this gig ( ;-) but if any of our forum members living in the region get to see him/know off him please give us some feedback. " Published on Sunday 2 December 2012 18:00 in the Mirfield Reporter.

From Manchester, Steven Finn has been described as “one of the best young acoustic blues guitar players on two legs” reaching number one in the UK Blues charts, and a one time All Ireland traditional Irish music champion in the grupai cheoil - a mixed musical ensemble!
He plays acoustic folk-blues with a National guitar, bottleneck and harmonica and has been described as “the future of British folk blues”. Following the release of his debut album, Houdini’s Blues, Steven’s own brand of powerful songwriting and performance will be displayed again in his latest album, due for release early next year.
He will be performing a selection of these new songs in Heckmondwike at the Christmas special Crown of Lights Acoustic Night on Friday December 7. Joining him on the night will be fellow blues musicians Diamond Dac and Chris Martin. Comrades Club, Regent Street, Heckmondwike. Free entry and family friendly. Doors 8pm. " Thanks!

Hi Colin, I have met Steven and his girlfriend/manager, Amy, three or four times in the last few years. I first met him when he came to a 'meet and greet' I did at a guitar shop in London, then a year or so later supporting me at a venue in Germany, and then a year or two after that he was the sound engineer for a show I was doing at the Green Note in Camden. I do not write reviews or opinions of musicians and their work, I leave that to journalists.... I also know Dac and Chris, both have been students of mine and are good friends.... (and they are both members of this forum)I hope all is well. Shine On Michael.

I think he's great! I can't agree that he's not blues though Phil.

This thread has become a good bit of PR for Steven! Anyone nearby should go to the gig and listen to Steven, Dac and Chris.
I know that Steven and Chris are very into their onstage footwear. It should be an interesting evening.
Shine On Michael
