Hello, recently my guitar felt down. Several weeks later I heard that something creaked when I played (with guitar strap). I saw a small split between the neck and the body. I don't know if something is broken. The strings stay in tune.
Greetings from Dirk

Hello Dirk,
Ouch!!!!
I have a couple of questions:
1 - what guitar is it? 2 - can I see another photo showing a little more of the heel and guitar body?

Hi Dirk,
I would suggest you take it to an experienced guitar repairer as soon as you can. You don't want that split to get bigger.

Seeing your last photo - it looks like the neck has moved away from the body slightly?
Do you know an experienced resonator guitar repairer?

I think the strap button has taken the full force of the fall and the shock to such a small area has caused the problems.
Without the strap button, the fall may not have damaged anything.

Hello Michael, thank you for your help! I think it is better to take down the strings , or? I don't know if I known an experienced resonator guitar repairer. In Cologne there is a big shop called "Musicstore". They are selling also resonator guitars. Do you think it must be an especially resonator guitar repairer? Or is it enough to bring the guitar to a luthier?

Hi Dirk,
An experienced resonator luthier would be best, but any good luthier should be able to do something with the split. The job that requires an experienced reso-person is if the neck has moved.
I think it is safer to slacken the strings off.
Let me know how you get on

Hello Michael, now my guitar is repaired. The luthier strengthen the guitar inside with a small block of wood. It works good. Thank you for your help!
Best regards
Dirk
