Good three page article on our favourite type of instrument in this month's "Guitar & Bass" Magazine.

Crumhorn Shmumhorn. Bring it on.
Only the bagpipes offends these jaded cab doors!
They have hot-rodded an Oz*rk. The article is informative and not graced with a phalanx of misinformation. Worth buying as there is a lot on counterfeit instruments and a "school" on the technique of Roy Buchannan too.

Was this article written by Huw Price?

I'm at work right now with no access to the magazine. I think that it is written by Huw. It is (in my opinion) so well researched, I kind of thought that he could not have stumbled upon it all by accident and/or common sense..... I was quick off the mark last time in questioning the scoring applied in the review, so I was keen to be the first to highlight how good I thought this article is.

Well spotted Steve!
I have not seen the article yet, but I did spend a long time talking with Huw and advising him about how to do the upgrade and about the content of this article.
I can't remember now if we (Busker/MM) did supply him with a cone and biscuit, but with regard to having my name associated with the article, I was offered a credit and declined it. This was because I do not really support the idea (especially in print in a magazine) of trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. I did explain to Huw that as much as I would help and advise him, I did not support the idea of making a magazine feature out of so-called upgrading. The companies that produce bad quality instruments and have no interest in their customers or the people that make their products, should not be encouraged or supported.
I was more than happy to help as Huw and everyone at the magazine are great people, but not to have my name on it.
Shine On Michael.
