Thanks for the extra info, I'm looking forwards to the new photo's now!
A neckstick is a piece of wood that extends from the neck through the body, it gives extra strength to the body. I see now that as your guitar has solid sides and a shallow body there would be no need or room for one!

This tailpiece is apparently a bit different in that the button tops are relatively flat and there is no space under the button top to engage the string. Therefore I submit that the only way to string this is as I have done...... I've been wrong before however. Gary Attachments:

Hi Gary,
You do appear to have some break angle there. It is so difficult from a distance, but it looks to me like John Dopyera may have filed those buttons down to accommodate the problem.
