Hi, a new member of the board poppin' up. While searching for resonator reviews I found this one. It's not easy here in Finland to find resos in the shops and get to play them (being lefty didn't make things any easier). I had to trust quite much on what I read from users' reviews. Finally decided to order a Gold Tone GRS. -jarmo-

Hi Jarmo,
You are very welcome to our forum.
The Gold Tone resophonic guitars are excellent value for money....they sound great!
Let us know when you get your new guitar & kerep in touch,
Shine On, Michael

Thank you Michael. BTW, I'm ordering today your DVD guide to slide guitar. edit: order done Once I've got the reso and the DVD I'll let you know how did it feel. I've got just 4-5 years playing experience, starting from my late thirties. I've mostly been just strumming and flatpicking acoustic and my Les Paul clone (year '90 Washburn WP-50). I took couple years lessons and my teacher had a strong blues background. that made me even more interested in learning the slide technique. But now, besides the new reso coming and the slide DVD, I've also ordered Happy Traum's fingerpicking DVD guide. Equipped with these I'm looking forward to finding a whole new world in this hobby.

Check out bottleneck John on You tube he makes his Amistar sound as good as any National NRP? Do not discount the home grown resos before you lust after the Stateside guitars, I was with Dave King today and he is an Amistar dealer as I think is Bottleneck John! Regards Lee.

I have a Beard cone in my Fender FR50CE (btw, they have gotten better since you reviewed them Michael...but the cone is still lousy) and it sounds AMAZING. I am sure the Beard Gold Tone sound even better since they are assembled at the Beard factory. I must say that the blues sound really great on the spider bridge guitar. The combo of the wood body and the Beard cone really make it sing. The sustain is incredible.
