Can anyone tell me where I can get Michaels DVD, Introduction to slide from. I know you can get it from Euroblues but is there anywhere else that sells it. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Kind regards Roger.

Sorry I posted in the wrong place michael I was half asleep when I did it. The only reason I asked was a friend ordered from Euroblues and had a few problems, wrong goods late arrival etc so I was a bit hesitant to use them. I will give them a go and hopefully it was a one off.
Kind regards Roger

Hi Roger,
No problem about posting in the wrong place. I just try to keep all MM commercial stuff in one place.
I am sure the problem your friend experienced was a one-off.
We have not really researched the download idea, but we have discussed it and Euro Blues has expressed interest. I will re-open that conversation.
Thanks for your enquiry

Hi Michael,
I have received your dvd today from euroblues and I was surprised to find out it was not a pressed 'silver' dvd but a self burned copy!
Are you aware of that fact? Or did I receive a copy where I should have received a retail version?
Kind Regards
Rene

Hi Rene,
Thank you for buying a copy of my DVD and welcome to the forum.
I don't have copies here at present so I am unable to check. The DVDs are not manufactured by me, it is all arranged by Euro Blues. Perhaps you should check with them about what you have received. Which DVD is it - slide or lap steel - I assume it was properly packaged? If it is a burned copy, it won't be a self-burned copy, it will have been done by the film studio that we did the project with and maybe a more practical way of manufacturing small runs.
Nobody has ever commented about this before.
Whatever the outcome - if you are not satisfied with the product you can return it and get a full refund.
I hope you are enjoying the content of the DVD?

Both of my MM DVDs are DVD-Rs. The first one was mauled by the Royal Mail and Euroblues replaced it instantly. That's brilliant service isn't it? For really minimum cost, a small piece of thin foam rubber works well to secure the disc in its case. If taken care of, the DVD-r will be fine and MM probably benefits more than covering the cost of a pressed DVD on a limited production run. Go for it because the DVD's contents are very well worth the cost.

I got my copy in the US from here: www.tribotone.com/musical_instruction.html It came quickly and I'm enjoying it very much (and learning from it too!). Just be aware that they are PAL and won't play in many USA DVD players, but work fine on the computer. I knew this going in.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your quick answer. As it seems from the answer of others all copies are burned copies. I think that Euroblues should mention that on their website because the price of the dvd suggests a printed dvd. Anyway, this is not your fault and I shall e-mail euroblues to suggest this.
The content of the dvd (the slide one is the one I have btw) is more important and that looks and sounds great. Love the players p.o.v. screen. Looks I can learn a lot from it.
Will you be doing an advanced slide dvd in the near future?
Cheers
Rene

Hi Rene,
I am pleased that you are happy with the content of the DVD and I am sorry that you feel it should be priced differently because it is a DVD-R. I believe the reason they are DVD-Rs is so they can be manufactured in small quantities by a production company based near the Euro Blues office. Each unit probably costs more to manufacture that way than if it were produced in large numbers, but it keeps outlay low. The smaller the company that produces and markets specialist products like this, the better, because there is less of a chain of people wanting their slice of the profits. Cottage industry for specialist products sold through the Internet cuts out all the greedy middle men.
You are the first person in five years since its release to comment about this aspect of the product. The only comments I have ever seen have been about its content. You should do as you have said and drop a line to Euro Blues Promotions, meanwhile enjoy the film and I hope you find it a useful and helpful learning tool. If you ever have any questions about its content, please don't hesitate to leave a message for me on here and I will do my best to answer it.
We are currently in discussion about making an advanced slide guitar DVD and have also looked into the idea of downloads. The download industry, as I know from my record companies, is fraught with danger.
Shine On Michael.
