So, just got my cheque away to Euroblues for this year's Bluesweek. Who else is going this time? (No.12 for MM and myself real survivors).
Please don't tell us you're not going, it doesn't answer the question. You can always start your own thread for what you are doing first week in August,

I'm going with my trusty Lightning. It will be my first one. I retired this year , so I now have the time to indulge myself!

Do people generally go for a day / stay for a week?

Hi Deuce,
People stay for the whole week, but if you have a look at the Euro Blues website, there may be an option for a day rate.
It's a wonderful event.
Shine On Michael.

A week is best but a day is well worth doing, even better if you can stay till the early hours/stop over for an evening's jamming.
If you go for a day, Monday is not best as classes haven't warmed up. Friday is a bit end of term but generally tutors reprise the week's lessons so you can get something from it. Tuesday or Thursday would be my preferred days.

Thanks MM and Phil I've got four kids under 10 - whole week impossible, but I'll do a day (or two) if I can. With respect to all the staff, I'd possibly benefit most from Sonny Black (for slide / open D) and MM, perhaps with one of the harp players - does any one (or two) day fit that well? TT

Don't forget Homesick Mac for slide, he's a brilliant teacher and player.
If you can do 2 days then choice of days can depend what you want to do in the evening - Monday staff concert on campus, Tuesday staff concert off campus, Wednesday lecture, Thursday student concert (experienced performers), Friday class presentations. Every evening after these events, various informal jam sessions into the early hours.

Oh yes....he replied in the most positive, affirmative, downright yessishness tone of voice! Don't forget to pack guitars (several), Strings (several x6), Drinking boots (several x2), painkillers (several x6 days). Can't wait!

Just a reminder, if you haven't thought about going to Bluesweek, think again, even if only for a day or two! It'll make such a difference to your playing as well as giving the chance to swap ideas with like-minded others (and harmonica players!).

Seriously thinking of pulling the trigger. Phil, do you know if there is a closing date for booking a place?

Hi Chris,
I don't think there is a closing date. You could check with Michael Roach ( info@euroblues.co.uk ) just to be sure.

Chris, you'll be ok up till mid July I think, but check as MM says as M.Roach will have to confirm room numbers at some point.
