Hi Michael. Hopefully you might recall our discussions in some other threads regarding buzzing and rattling of Tricones when playing with bare fingers as opposed to playing with picks.
Well, my Busker Deco Tricone was delivered today. It was delivered to me at work, just before lunch (good timing). I didn't have a slide with me, so I took it out of the case, tuned it to open D (I have a tuner on my iPhone) played it finger style, fretting the notes, no problem, no buzz, no rattle.
Got it home this evening and played it with a couple of slides, brass and glass. I might be seeing what you are saying!
Every so often you do get a bit of a rattle when playing with a slide. That said, it is a "bit of a rattle" that seems to fit in with playing the blues, in that, it would seem to give it a bit of a raw edge which I associate with blues guitar. I haven't had a chance to play with picks yet, hopefully I will give it a try mid week.
All the more strange as I have been trying to induce the same rattle/buzz when playing my single cone, and failing!!!!! Hopefully that makes some sort of sense (I dont do clean that much)
The upshot is, Robin has sent me a great guitar. Its a perfect partner for my Busker Delta single cone. It feels the same, slightly easier to play, different sound. I waited a long time for it, but for sure, it was worth waiting for!
Rich.

Hi Rich,
Great stuff! I am pleased that you are happy with your new machine.
Regarding the rattle; the guitar is brand new, it has just been on a journey in a cardboard box with ParcelForce and may just need time to settle down. Tricones are devils for buzzes & rattles.
Meanwhile you are enjoying its sound, which is what it is all about.
Shine On Michael.

Great Rich... These Tricones are the Mutts N....! I play a lot with bare fingers and have very little buzzing or rattles. Just find, that when you change tunings,it takes a bit time for the cones to settle down again. Enjoy it Rich... Now you just need an MML . Also a great axe...
Take care.. All the best.

Thanks everyone. I've had a couple of evenings to stretch the strings in a bit more and I now find that any buzzes or rattles have vanished altogether. I am indeed, a happy player!
As thebluesbear says "what a great machine it is"
It has a great sound now, so it's going to be interesting to see how the sound matures as time goes on. My biggest concern is whether I can keep it looking shiny!!!! I have equipped myself with Mer and turtle wax polish as recommended by MM in other posts, and given it a good polish up. We shall see!
Strangely gouranga, an MML is next on the hit list. Maybe next year.
gaucho. I'll try and get some pictures at the weekend to prove to you that it did actually get delivered.
Best wishes y'all.
Rich.
