Hi, As advised by Michael, I am in the process of 'upgrading' the biscuit bridge on my Republic single cone to an NRP one. I needed a slightly higher saddle, and I've checked that the NRP bridge fits well, and does give me a little more height at the saddle. So, all that is fine. I had a few questions regarding the overall set-up: (1) To decrease neck relief (make the neck more straight), is the truss rod to be turned clockwise? That kind of intuitively appeals to me, but wanted to double check! Also, does the short end of the Allen key go into the hole (the truss rod screw), or the long end? (2) What kind of twelfth fret clearance do you guys aim at eventually? I know that this will vary, but will appreciate your input. (3) Finally, are the saddle string slots to be slightly slanted to slope down towards the tailpiece? Thanks!

Hi Fibrebundle,
To straighten the neck (pull it back)...tighten the trussrod. To get relief (pull it forward)....loosen it. We are talking quarter or half turns, no more. Do it with the strings in tune and you will see the change immediately.
Slots in the nut can slope down slightly towards the headstock, but only a fraction.
String heights at 12th fret.....this is a personal taste thing. We set ours up at 3mm on the bass side and 2.5 to 2.75 on the treble side. This is a good all-round setup. My own guitars are set higher than that.
I hope that helps.
Shine On Michael.
