If you are a fan of Mr Dave's lap slide playing, then set your video recorders, hardisc recorders or whatever for 9:00pm on Saturday 26th June as BBC 4 is broadcasting the David Lindley/Jackson Browne Glastonbury set (almost live) for one hour. More info hereAlso, for those who like them, the subsequent hour broadcasts a rapidly edited 'almost live' Glastonbury set from cult Brooklyn band 'The National' ( Boxer, High Violet)

Hi Honeyboy Thanks for posting this , I have the 'Love is Strange ' double CD , I just love it , it is the only thing I play in the car at the moment. A one hour set on the Beeb that is marvelous, only problem is I have been invited around to someones house Saturday night for a meal and guitars , and to ' Leave like the English ' at 10 pm, would be a bit rude.
Must see if I can get someone over in the UK to video it for me as I do not want to miss it.
Regards

It was a wonderful show Growler.
I have watched a few Glastonbury shows on the iPlayer; Stevie Wonder, Jackson Browne, Willie Nelson, Vampire Weekend and Toots & The Maytalls.
I saw Toots & The Maytalls ten days ago in a small club in Reading, so although their Glasto' show was superb, it doesn't compare to seeing them in a small club. I love that band. I enjoyed the Stevie Wonder show, he really is an amazing artist.
I nearly got booked to play there is year, but it fell through at the last minute. That is what usually happens when 'my people talk to your people'....

Perhaps you didn't have the right type/colour of wellies: not that they were needed this year. My son has worked for the past several years at Glastonbury - he's in catering as well as being a pretty darn good geetar picker - and decided not to go this year as they had had so many problems with the weather over the last couple of years. He came home to see dear old Dad instead and spent the entire weekend watching the festival on TV and being grumpy...
Not seen much as I was busy cooking most of the weekend!! Certainly will catch up with Browne & Lindley (sounds like a posh department store!) on iPlayer tomorrow.
Cheerily,
Gerry C

No agreement was reached between Jackson Browne's management company and the BBC, so little prospect of any iPlayer Glastonbury footage turning up - by all acounts the performance on the Acoustic stage was a knockout - with Mr Dave playing some great fiddle.. Mr Dave fiddlin' on the acoustic stage Loved the underrated Mark Goldenberg guitar parts in the main electric set. He is just an extraordinary player (with one of the best early tele collections in LA). Check out his new self produced acoustic album - top rate. Mark Goldenberg, Jackson Brownes other guitarist..

Aah, Mark Goldenberg, that's his name, he rather caught my attention.
The years, I note, have been a little kinder to Mr Browne than Mr Lindley. Has the former, perhaps, had a little "work" done?

Garry , what the hell are you on about ,......... he has always looked a young looking bloke, I can remember when I first saw a photo of him back in the early 70's.......... he looked all of 14 then.

Jackson Browne Band with David Lindley play 'Doctor My Eyes' on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival on Saturday 26th June 2010. Great cameo solo from Mr Dave on his Lap Slide, followed by a blistering repost from Mark Goldenberg on his Thorn Doublecut Junior fitted with a single P90 pickup. Lineup is Kevin McCormick (bass), Mark Goldenberg (guitars), Mauricio Lewak (drums) Jeff Young (keyboards, backing vocals) and David Lindley (lap slide and fiddle). Chavonne Morris and Alethea Mills supply backing vocals. Doctor My Eyes

Honeyboy ......... That was brilliant , was it from the BBC coverage? , it was so well filmed I wondered if it could have been for a DVD they are making of his performance, If it was , that will be good as I missed the BBC broadcast. Incidentally, my younger brother was there for the whole of the festival, I have not seen or talked to him since he got back from it. I told him before he went , when he has had enough of seeing most of the crap that was on there , make sure you do not to miss seeing Jackson Browne and David Lindley
