Hmm, what happens if you bend a string, does it try to compensate to keep it in tune?

It has been around quite a while. I've seen reviews; not too positive. The tuning changing seems not to works just like that all the time. Many say it is not worth having such mechanics, but I'm just recalling my impressions of what I read over time about it. I've never seen it work or not work in the real world myself.

Seems pointless in this day and age when you could just incorporate some type of digital method into the electrics to change the tuning. I think Fender have now got a Strat that does it digitally.
