This was the cheapest Dobro product at the time and was actually called 'Angelus - A Dobro Product'. The guitar on eBay is not a prototype, but it could be quite early.....late 20s...early 30s.
The four legged spider is normal for that instrument.
I wouldn't get too excited; some sound okay, most are not up to much. Just a nice thing to have around the house.
I really do wish that people would stop opening vintage resonator guitars just to show us what's inside. By opening the guitar the seller has undone what could be many decades of everything working as one in this guitar. In an eighty year old guitar the cone should not be clean and free of dust. It should have a nice layer of grime and a one inch diameter dust-bunny rolling around inside.
