Hi all
This may sound as a stupid question, but reso strings specs are quite new to me....
I looked at D'daddario's website - they have special resophonic phosphor-bronze strings, and as singles you can get these strings...but only from 020 and up, which are wounded...I don't see any 013, 015 or 016 un-wounded "phosphor-bronze" strings...
Are the 1. and 2. string the same as for electric guitars, just with a heavier gauge...also regarding tension ?
I want to change my 13-string to a 15, but now I get uncertain whether I can just use a 15 electric guitar steel string....
Best regards

Plain strings (unwound) are generally just regular steel, whether it's electric or acoustic, sometimes with different plating on them, and also available as stainless by some mfrs, Just put a decent make of .015 (D'Adariio's are fine in my experience) in place of the .013

Hi again
Thanks ChickenboneJohn
I have just been to our big musicstore in town, and I got a Rotosound nickelsteel plain 15 string.....
And it's MUCH MUCH better now, it sounds more, it is more stiff to slide on, the slide sounds much more, and it's just better when playing the guitar....even when playing fingerstyle....
You could say that the string gives more response....soundwise as well as playing-wise....
The 13 was just too thin, but it's my own fault, because I was a little scared of the thick strings....so I did choose the 13-56 string set.....

I'm glad that's worked for you..as you say, the heavier string feels stiffer, more resistance for slide playing which I think give you a bit more confidence to use the slide...and gives a better sound as well.
