My 1st electric was a Tele, a blonde, like the 1st wife I sold it when my 1st daughter was born 'cos it kept her awake (and I was crap). She was 30 last year! So much time, so little skill

Built my first "Tele" in about 1979 (an Esquire type as seen in Ken Achard's little green book) It still took me over 25 years to "get" Telecasters though. Nacho's boat anchor tome changed my thoughts on the Blackguard completely.

John 5 is a true enthusiast for the Telecaster guitar, and although he is mainly known as Marilyn Mansons shred guitarist, he also pursues a sideline playing fast bluegrass and country music and has guested on and has had guests on his albums by some great country and bluegrass players.
I dont really like his metal shred music so much, but I do have a lot of respect for the guy and his love of my favorite electric guitar.
Anyone who says Telecasters are only for country music and cant rock, just has to be steered in the direction of John 5 and also of Billy Gibbons, who also has a massive vintage Tele collection.
Theres not many designs still in use 60 odd years after its first inception, virtually unchanged. The Telecaster is one of them. Heres to another 60!
