Hi folksies, Over on the other slide fest thread Chris W brought up the subject of electrical appliances!
This leads me to wonder who is bringing what and what we will have to cater for. There is bound to be some exotica about. Will we have to have a slot in the schedule for a parade? Will either of the MM's be able to judge the concours instruments? Will anyone bringing an early Morphy Richards lap steel be marked down for having Pifco pickups fitted?
Are there many intending to bring amplifiers? Is anyone bringing an instrument which will require an amplifier?
Just to re-assure you all - there should be a couple of amps on site but we will ask that the volume is kept low.
Cheers Perce

Heres hoping that the weather warms up for the weekend of the Fest. Lets hope the only sliding being done is the sound of tubes on strings.
A couple of small amps like the DA5 would really suit. Trouble is I am getting down with a combo of train and lift, so I cant bring my own amp. I'm going to come down with an MM Blues and a Sollophonic I think.
As for electrical appliances, never mind amps, is anyone bringing a sandwich toaster?!!!
Seriously though, cant wait!

Today was beautiful before it snowed again. But even so we are not really doing too badly in England as far as the cold weather is concerned.
I have just been checking on the weather map of Europe for the temperatures where friends are living, -11 in Gronigen -6 in Amsterdam and Paris -5 Bruges. It is even snowing on the mediterranean, -4 in Montpellier -3 Sete, but strange to tell +2 tonight and +7 degrees predicted for tomorrow in Reykjavik! (I have family there).
If it is at all icy don't put your instruments in the boot. Remember what happened to Peter Greens old Les Paul.
I hope you all stay warm and safe.
Be careful - Perce

I do hope this weather has gone by the time of the festival, the French meteo say its going to hang around till 18th Jan . I had to drive over to the UK and came back Xmas eve .....and it was terrible, especially the little roads in England that were apparently ' cleared ' . We had a hell of a lot of snow come down Wed night , my car is well and truely stuck where I think it will be for sometime .......... in the garage. Talking about temperatures around Europe Perce , A company I work for in Luneberg, Northern Germany still have the snow on the ground that came down well before Xmas , this weekend they have another ' metre' of it forecast ............. with ' blizzard ' conditions and around - 20° Nice for taking a few photos ............. then it needs to go? Regards A very cold Growler

Nicely done Gerry!
The new shipment is in and guitars are currently being checked & set up. Due to bad weather ParcelForce in Wales is out of action. So no deliveries until they are mobile again.
Shine On Michael.
