I was sure I'd answered this the brain must be going wonky, What I thought I had said once (but who knows where I posted it), was - I will bring a couple of amps. The PA which Maxx will be manning will be available for the open mics etc. but I will bring my old twin and my Trace T100 for people who need to plug in. I guess the space will be quite cramped in the car for Gerry and longtooth, if Andy brings his Sollophonic adapted Marshall stack with him. I imagine big black Cabs with four reso cones shoe horned in. Well if he can do it to Fenders.............. That would have been a pm to me. We'll talk about what's needed closer to the date. I like the idea of a range of amps for their different tones; we've all been at jams/open mics where the amps made everybody sound the same. I suspect also that we will not suffer from Big Hair Syndrome, where everybody tries to sound like SRV or late era Buddy Guy (but if you want to play his 1960s stuff, I'll gladly play rhythm for you) and blow your ears off.

VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE - THIS MEANS YOU (possibly)>
(I just posted this in the official Slide Show thread) Please note that some customers have been having trouble trying to book rooms at the Red Lion via the internet booking system. This is because it has been disabled as I the entire hotel is now reserved for Slide Fest customers at the flat rate £49per single occupancy!*
At last the chance to sleep with your guitar without being caught!
Just think you may get the bridal suite.
Please book direct!
Send a request for a room direct to info@atherstoneredlion.co.uk or call them on 01827 713 156
Cheers Percy
*OMG as the young folks say

Turns out I can make it after all ;D
Travel will likely be by train (or lift, should any kind soul with room to spare be passing through Lancaster on their way). Probably will be bringing a guitar but not sure what yet. Staying over at the Red Lion on the Saturday night.
Also, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the Red Lion don't need any money for a room booking, so long as you can give them card details you don't get charged until afterwards. This is probably common practice, but either way I didn't know and when I mentioned it to Percy he suggested that I mention that here.
Cheers - looking forwrd to it already, it'll be good to meet some of you good people
Dave

I'm coming.
Percy has asked me to do a demo of my Boss L1 PA and I'll do a 30 minute set as my 'payment'!
I'm waiting to see my name on the poster!
Time might be tight as I am waiting to hear about a gig in a local pub which might be the very next day.....the old joke about buses!

Hi all, I actually like the T-shirt idea!
Percy, Is this open to non-forum members? If so, can we download the flier and post it around?

The Festival is open to everyone. Even Banjo players! Numbers only limited by the size of the venue. The more the merrier. Please feel free to down load the flyer. (Or upload it). It would make a great screen saver or perfect wallpaper for your desktop. Please print it out and display it with pride. Take the most recent straight from Photobucket. i874.photobucket.com/albums/ab309/PercytheWonderAnt/Nov18flyerpdf.jpgThis is the new flyer! Cheers Percy

Hi folks, Church End Brewery in Atherstone - www.churchendbrewery.co.uk/index.html - have agreed to brew a beer for the Festival. It will be called 'Bottleneck'. If you get your opinions to me before Wednesday You might just have a say in what the beer is like - Of course the final outcome will be moderated by me and Stuart the brewer...... Cheers Percy
