Hi, Michael.
I just tried your MM Newtone PB 0.016-0.059 set (sent to me by Robin), and I must say that
they sound out of this world! However, I have decided to go in for a 0.015-0.056 set, which I think
will be easier on my tricone neck and my fingers too (I live in India, and it can get quite humid here, creating possible neck problems for guitars). So, I am ordering for a bunch of these.
However, in addition to Newtones, I also wish to have another alternative. What do you think of the following brand of strings:
"JOHN PEARSE 790NR RESONATOR GUITAR SET
Spanish (Round) Neck Resophonic - Strings are phosphor bronze, 013 017 026w 036w 046w 056w."
Do you recommend these strings for my round-neck tricone (which I have bought from Republic Guitars)? I play in open G ( and will possibly play in open D at some point). I plan to replace the first 0.013 string with a 0.015, to maintain consistency with the Newtones that I will be using.
If you recommend this set, I will order for several packs of Newtones and John Pearse.
Of course, you could recommend some other brand as well (apart from Newtones, which I am thoroughly impressed with already). Since I live in India, I usually order for a year's supply of strings in one go, and ask some visitor, from the U.S. to get them for me. This visitor will order for the Newtones on my behalf from 'stringsdirect.co.uk', and for the other set from elderly.com in the U.S.
Will appreciate your recommendation,
Abhinav.
