This just turned up and brought back memories from 40 years ago. The Duolian and the Muddy Waters painting are long gone. The blue Dobro came back home in 2006 and I think I still have the washboard, which I found on Beale Street in the 70s. Definitely still got the gnome and his right foot is still chipped! now it's all starting to tie together, did your brother take these photographs?
i hear that many professionals prefer the black and white medium due to improved light contrast control.

Mitchfit, My brother Alan did work with George on a few occasions, but he did not take this picture. Alan does like to work in black & white, but also has shot millions of colour too. Back in the 60s and 70s it was also a cheaper and more practical option, because a photographer could print his own black & white pics in his own darkroom, whereas colour had to go off to a colour laboratory which took time and was expensive. I just found this one that he took in 1968 Shine On Michael

You are right about him turning up all over the place. He and his friends are often in my house too, we find them jamming around the sink in the downstairs bathroom. They turn up in colour and black & white. I'm not sure why, but that's gnomes for you. And yes I do have gnomes in my house and yes there is one playing slide on a silver National guitar. this'n could be a stretch. notice welcome home the Rolling Stones doll in Sgt Pepper album cover. far right under palm tree branch. note pictures near bottom of John Lennon on the right, and George Harrison on the left below. here comes the sketchy part. who is that wearing the pointed black hat in top left, under the golden colored bird? i.pinimg.com/originals/49/7d/50/497d50256b3f2f4063664d326363cd42.jpgmitchfit

I have always loved that Rolling Stones cover, it is beautiful. I had never noticed the character you mentioned in the pointed hat hiding in the background.
The Pied Piper - Silly Symphony is a masterpiece, as are almost all Walt Disney animations from their golden age.
Not sure about the 50th anniversary gnomes. Pushing their luck I'd say!

bought mine early on. wish i had kept the album cover, even though the vinyl had degraded from being played to death.
