You don't hear about people using a steak bone for a slide very often these days. This steak bone slide was made for me around 30 years ago by Mike Lewis. It is comfortable and tactile, the dimensions are really nice and the tone, although a little dull, is actually very good. It's a lot better than those flowerpot slides because it is dense and has weight, therefore giving it tone. Which, just to be serious for a moment, are popular because they are forgiving and therefore mask bad technique problems like unwanted sounds. Pot slides really are not a serious tool.
