Hey all
If anyone has a Dunlop Mudslide 266 (the one with the 19mm ID) that is surplus to requirements then please by all means let me know as I'm interested in getting one.
Cheers all

I've got a 263 going spare if that's any use to you?

It makes no difference, just put a little less soil in the flowerpot.
Who ever came up with this idea. The first time I saw one was in the US around 25, maybe more years ago. I remember commenting back then that it has no sustain and feels weird.
Apart from a handful of electric players that use tones unaffected by the material the slide is made from, name me a great slide player that uses them?
How about wool slides for winter gigs, or organically grown edible fruit slides. Or if you want to look really cool, how about a fish slide!
Oops....apologies, but I couldn't help myself.

Coincidentally, I was just talking with Ian McWee. He called me to ask if he could advertise his new model on the forum. I said that it was against forum rules, but I would be happy to post it for him. Recent problems with getting hand blown slides made to the quality that Diamond Bottlenecks’ customers are used to, has led Ian in a new direction and I have to say that even sceptical old me with 45 years experience is impressed with this one. It sits right in with the trend for sustainable organic products, but is still eye catching, and while the tone isn't as good as it could be, it tastes really nice! This is the new Diamond Bottlenecks Bugs Bunny tone bar.... Oh, and I forgot to say that it was grown from a seedling in a Dunlop Mudslide 266 ceramic slide. Shine On Michael

In addition to my previous post about the Bugs Bunny slide, "Bugs Bar", I forgot to mention that instead of £25.00 each like most other slides, these are £3.50 a kilo.

Disclaimer: I have no intention to start a holy war, especially with a much more knowledgeable and experienced person than I So just to share my experience, your mileage may vary! I have Mudslide 266 (porcelain) and I quite like it. It's much better than their Moonshine 243 (ceramic) imo. AFAIK, 266 and 263 have different wall thickness which affects the tone. So the difference isn't only in the internal diameter. I've heard that they are hand made but I'm not quite sure that's true. I bet Dunlop would advertise it heavily if that was the case. That being said, they seem to wary a bit in specs from slide to slide. For example, although specs say 19mm internal, mine is actually more like ~20.5mm. Re artists: - I remember Sonny Landreth recommending Mudslide in one of his courses. Most likely affiliated. I haven't seen him using them
- Justin Johnson uses essentially a bit modified Mudslide. It's his signature slide that Dunlop makes. Interestingly, they don't sell it anywhere except for his website. He regards it very high in his lessons, so I tend (or want) to believe it's not just an affiliation. It does sound a bit different from Mudslide though. It's a bit more raw and crispy, Mudslide is a bit more smooth and glassy to my ears.
- There are other signature models that Dunlop sells which are based on Mudslide, but we all know how that works
In the past I had a few Dunlop glass slides and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Another day recently I had to play with their glass while visiting a friend and that was a truly awful experience which made me cry and moan for my Diamond Bottleneck glass slide. I think Dunlop did a much better job with Mudslide though.
P.S. If someone wants to try Moonshine 243, I can send it for the price of shipping cost.

You don't hear about people using a steak bone for a slide very often these days.
