Hi Blisters, Well spotted sir! The upper bout of the guitar is a slightly different shape to an original National, but it was not anything that worried me, so for the time being I decided to leave the body shape alone. The body depth and F holes were more important to me to get the tone & feel right. To change it I need to get the guys at the workshop a new one of these... Shine On Michael

The first batch of MM guitars is just 25 of each model (25 x BLUES & 25 x LIGHTNING). Plus 4 x fourteen fret BLUES. This first batch was ordered to get the product going and to test out the marketplace. The response & worldwide interest in these guitars has been fantastic. Way beyond what I expected! The second batch will probably be a larger amount and will only take a few weeks to be completed and delivered. There is a list of people wanting one of the first batch of MM guitars, but we are not sold out yet. Thanks Michael, I was already in touch with Robin and I have just emailed him to settle for a pre order.

HI Michael I submitted as post A little while ago regarding taking your guitars over to France ( Paris area ). if any of the french resosphiles are interested I am still willing to do this for them as I go back to the UK on a regular basis. But I'm sure with all the interest being shown with your guitars, and this also applies to Robin's Buskers you may have something arranged by now . If any of them are interested tell them to drop me a personal message, and we can then discuss it further . I live just west Of Dreux on the N12
Regards Growler

Hello Michael,
Just read through all this and have been blown away. This sounds like a fantastic project and since I do not have a biscuit-bridge resonator (mine's a spider-bridge Regal RD 40), it could not have come at a better time for me. Can't wait to see the final photos and hear the sound clips. My biggest difficulty will be deciding which model to buy (steel or brass, 12 or 14 fret?). My gut feeling is for a steel body with 14 frets. I know it may not be the "authentic" choice, but I think the steel body will offer more of a contrast to the slightly mellower sound of my Regal and the 14 fret version gives you a bit more reach up at the dusty end with a capo on the second fret (for those workouts in E). However, I don't want to make my mind up until I hear the sound clips.
Will you have them on sale in Denmark Street? I will be over in July and have put my name down for the Debashish Bhattacharya/B J Cole workshop (is this still on?). It would be great to be able to try out all the different versions to decide which one I like best.
All the best,
Joe (aka Mairena Red)

Hi Michael
Got your DVD ...... it was very good. I'm moving on from Open G so I can do those one chord songs.....hours of entertainment.
Just a question I can't seem to find where to put an order in for an MM Resonator. I have a National M2 which I love and was just wondering whether to go blues or ligthning? Sorry for such a dumb question but what is the difference between the steel and the bell brass in terms of tone?

Hi Lukeslidewalker, Thank you for your enquiry and welcome along to our forum. Glad you like the DVD. Those one chord songs can just go on & on! Blues or Lightning - that is the question. I always think that wood-bodied single cone guitars are nearer in character to steel-bodied instruments, than they are to brass-bodied ones. If that is true, I would suggest the brass-bodied Lightning. It's a great sounding...and great looking guitar. We will have photos very soon. You can order direct from MM guitars distributor - Busker Guitars - www.buskerguitars.co.uk Keep in touch and let me know how you get on. Shine On, Michael.
