Hi Michael, I just got a very nice reply from Peter Woodman to an enquiry I made and he pointed me in your direction.
I am interested in a tri-cone but in the meantime, what is the string spacing (middle of the 6th string to middle of the 1st string) at the nut of the Lightning?
Are they set up for slide/fingerpicking/both?
TIA, Bill

Hi Bill,
Thanks for dropping by. Pete Woodman is a good man.
The string spacing at the nut (centre of 1st & 6th string) on both the BLUES and the LIGHTNING is just under 39mm.
They are set up for both fingerpicking & slide playing. I have not touch the set-up on the prototype that I have at home and it is fine for both styles of playing. Of course any instrument, however good, can need adjustments to suit a particular player's set-up preferences.

Hi Bill,
You can order a Lightning from my distributor, Busker Guitars (buskerguitars.co.uk). I don't think a 'BUY MM GUITARS' option has been set up yet, but by the time the guitars arrive in the UK, everything will be in place.
I do not handle direct sales of CDs, DVDs, strings or guitars from my own website.

Michael this is marvelous news about these new guitars. I think it's great you have chosen the very rare lightning pattern for one of them. I guess you felt it was the most Deco pattern to use! I can't wait to try one out. Based on your experience they should be excellent instruments.

Howdy, These look like you've done the work to get 'em right! I have been wanting a Style O for many moons and hope you'll get these to market soon. Will there be any US dealer types or am I to pile boxes of my country's undervalued currency on pallets and ship them your way? Really subdued photo on this page. I can't wait to see the megapixel glossies! Thankyou and all the bestest, Noel G.

Hi Noel,
Thanks for your message. We are just getting these new guitars off the ground and eventually will be trying for world domination. However, to begin with, the only US distribution will be via our old friend eBay.
Detailed photos will be online soon.
This thread started as a news item, just spreading the word about these new guitars and in a few days we had 1700 hits.
Keep in touch,

Hi Michael, Good luck with your exciting project. In my experience of manufacturing, getting the specification and processes right is one thing, the trick to satisfying the customer is to get the product right, first time, every time: How will consistent quality be assured - entirely at the factory, or will there be some final inspection/set up in the UK? It would be great to actually hear these guitars being played: do you have any plans to post any sound clips? barry hi michael do you have any plans for a 14 fret blues guitar?

Hi Celadon,
We certainly do. We can only go one step at a time as the costs are high. The 12 fret models are to me the classic Nationals, but I do understand that some people prefer 14 fretters.
Sound clips and great photos will all appear on this thread and my website in due course.
I only started this thread as a news item. I had no idea it would generate so much interest. I am very pleased with the response and the amount of interest. Thank you.

Hi Buzz1ng, Welcome to the forum and thank you for your enquiry. We are expecting the guitars to be available in approximately three weeks from now. You can order one from my distributor www.buskerguitars.co.uk, or direct from me. Once I know an exact delivery date I will announce it on this thread and then accept orders.
