Our numbering system of MM guitars is pretty good and we rarely get mistakes. However, much like National in the thirties, there are occasional mistakes and anomalies that will confuse future collectors and historians.
Number 0016 for Gerry was a special request.
Thanks,
Shine On Michael

So, MM '28 owners, what do you think of the neck profile? As I recall, it is a C shape, I assume chunkier than status quo, more akin to vintage necks. I am probably in the minority here in the States, but I greatly prefer a neck with a little heft to it.

I'd just like to say I've spent most of my lunch breaks recently reading through this entire thread and what a fascinating read it's been from start to finish. I got my 2nd hand MM Blues recently and it's an amazing guitar as most people on here have also stated. hats off to all involved in the MM guitars project. How Michael managed to maintain his composure after the first hundred or so questions of "how do I order one?"!!!!

Beautiful! I'm sure I don't need to tell you guitar geeks, but a wall is a dangerous place to keep guitars hanging in the Wintertime. I find that walls are safer places to keep guitars than stands, plus they are there to quickly pick up and play when you want. I keep all my guitars hung on walls, for years. None of them have ever suffered any ill effects, summer time or winter time. Beautiful MM Guitars, those 28MMs look stunning.

I got my Blues '28 on Monday. Serial 007, I am sure we will form a strong bond (sorry I felt compelled). Already love it and the Schatten that Robin fitted sounds good. I am sure I can get it to sound even better with a bit of fiddling with the EQ and perhaps some compression to take some of the piezo harshness out when the volume is cranked up. Unplugged it sounds fantastic.
It's really good to have an MM single-cone again to contrast with my Busker Deco. It looks fantastic: dark sunburst stain, offset by the cream binding and cromed cover. It's quite compact as well and so much lighter than the Deco or a lightning. The POD style case is a step up from the one that my steel Blues came in as well. All in all, a very satisfied customer.
Slide on, Pat

Impressed to see that my MM '28 has "arrived in destination country", and is now in New York after only a couple of days! It now begins its journey South toward Tennessee....

Great news TN Pat! Speedy delivery to the States. Looks like it's going to arrive for you before Christmas as you'd hoped. Do you know which number is heading your way?

Number 9! I like to think that the 9 muses will channel through my fingers, and out of the cone! We shall soon see! Hope it doesn't get caught up in customs.

Excellent! Maybe like a cat your 28 will have nine lives too. You've got me looking up numbers. There are a few eleven connections but my favorite is surveyors slang to distinguish eleven from seven. The two words used for eleven are railroad and punk. Railroad punk blues, there's a little bit of mojo I can live with!

Sounds like a song in the making! Here in the States, at least when I was a rambler, most of the "gutter punks" hopped trains, so there you go! I was more of a hitch hiking hippie!

There was a box waiting for me when I returned home! Waiting now for the instrument to acclimate before opening...(torture). I am not sure what the finish is on this guitar, but know that not letting a cold guitar acclimate is terrible for nitro lacquer. I am not taking any chances, as it is colder than usual here in Tennessee today. Incidentally, today was my last day of the semester at school. I took my final exams, then picked up a pizza and a bottle of Bushmills. I was not expecting the guitar to clear customs so close to Xmas. This shall be a celebratory evening!

I'm almost speechless. I arrived to visit family a couple of days ago and where I asked Robin to send the MM 28. It has far and away exceeded my expectations and then some, and I was expecting a lot.Number 011 28 is an absolute joy to play! A thousand thank yous to you Michael and Robin and whoever else has been involved. I'm one happy grinning bunny!
