Good spot, The Regal Chicago factory is where all the magic took place for the fiddle edges so it is not unreasonable to consider the woodworking department were influenced or to influence a customer with a fancier model as a reward or an invitation to order more of the same.

I've had some German made archtops with that same fiddle inspired sides. And ROGER guitars was a German brand as well, perhaps one of theirs?

This guitar isn’t really ‘fiddle edge’ it just has the kerfing on the outside ( Kerfing is a strip added to to rib to give more strength and glue area) To be a real fiddle edge just the top would have to overhang,as violins ‘cello etc. Pete
