Hello! I'm a long time follower of the forum but first time posting, hailing to you all the way from Finland!
I've been playing a Michael Messer Blues 28 guitar for about a year now, and found it very inspiring. As I was considering buying the guitar, I feel I could've used more high-quality audio samples of the model. Sure there's videos in YouTube that help get the tonal idea, but very often the sound quality is not ideal.
I recently recorded my first solo EP of acoustic blues, and decided to take the 28 to the studio along with my trusted National – you know, for tonal variety. As I just published the album, I thought I'd link it here, for anyone thinking of getting a MM Blues '28 and curious how it sounds well recorded, mixed and mastered. And for anyone else who's interested, of course!
MM Blues 28 can be heard on tracks 2 and 3, the rest are National. I used D'Addario nickel wound strings (13-56) in the Blues 28.

I am confident that without MM Blues 28, I would have never written tracks like these. Chickadee Stomp (#3) – the guitar just gave that to me. Old Banjo Roll, same thing. I tried playing both of them with other guitars, but they really lit up with the 28. The wooden body and somewhat lower action than the NRP helped come up with entirely new music.
If you know other studio recordings made with MM guitars, maybe we could post them in this thread?
Anyway, nice to be on the forum, and thanks for all the info I've received this far!

Enjoyed that music man, even though it was just snippets. Very authentic.

Thank you so much for the feedback!
For non-Spotify users: the album is also available for listen on other streaming platforms, apparently at least in Tidal and Amazon Music. You can also buy a digital copy on iTunes Store.
I hope this is not too much advertising! To me, comparing the sound of a metal-bodied National with the wooden MM was the real interesting part here. The tonal characteristics of the two were so different that we ended up with a whole different mic setup in the studio, and also mixing them differently.
