I’m a fan of the Canadian guitar repairer ‘Twoodfd’ he does very careful work . As an aside in a video about an old Harmony he said a very surprising thing. He has just watched the Pete Jackson movie about the Beatles (it’s very long and probably only for real fans) and noticed that Paul M. was playing a Martin that had had the nut changed to left hand BUT not the bridge ( a more invasive procedure, but he could afford it) . Paul can be seen playing this in India ( a couple of years before?) and he guessed that most of Paul’s guitar tunes ( Blackbird, etc ) were played on this guitar.
At the 14th fret the treble strings would be flat and the bass sharp, did he play what must have been his favourite guitar, or did he have another?

For some reason I can’t add an N to intonatio_ in my title using the edit function

Good spot Pete. When I occasionally dance up the neck with the Blackbird routine, it can tend to sound angry at the dusty end which I suppose is largely due to my inaccuracy in tuning more than intonation per-se, but either he didn't play it on that guitar or he is an exceptionally capable player. My money's on a bit of both.

strictly unconfirmed-as such reader investigation highly advised-,
"Using speakers as microphones. This was done to record Paul's bass - almost as a variation on DI; an identical speaker to the bass amplifier's was placed facing the bass. The engineer who set it up was almost sacked for that!"
and/or another source
"In response, newly installed engineer Geoff Emerick devised a way of making the bass super-loud by using a loudspeaker as a microphone."

PS--"intonatio" almost sounds like a vulgar allusion.

I am not a technically minded person, but many years ago I read about using speakers as microphones and they work surprisingly well for certain applications. I used to record all kinds of stuff with speakers. I didn’t know the Beatles story about them.
Regarding the left handed Martin, it’s all bollox, just play!
