I’m off to the Isle of Wight for a few days, any music / jams I should look out for? Last time I went I seem to remember hearing Jimmy Hendrix , the Who and several others, so I have high hopes for some good music this time! Pete

I was a little kid living near Southampton at that time. The Nit Nurse came to our primary school to look at our heads because of a local outbreak apparently caused by "the dirty hippies at the Isle of Wight festival". You've got a lot to answer for, Pete.

Pete, I lost a 10 bob note somewhere in that field watching Mr. Hendrix.
If you find it when you're on your hols. have a pint for me, please.

Though not quite a Blues Free zone the Isle of Wight lacks a Blues band ( I did an interweb search and couldn’t find one) called ‘Wight Blues’ . I am tempted to move back south just to start one! Pete

Pete Pete, The IoW has a buzzing live music scene and among that is lots of blues and roots based music. If you are there you should get in touch with my friend JC Grimshaw and also forum member, Rick Stokes. JC and Rick know everyone on the island. Shine On Michael
