I would have involved the police once more and got them to connect with the police in Japan and tracing the Tokyo guitar store also being cited for selling stolen guitars and not doing there homework with regards provenance.
Randy does have enough Guitars to offer a sweetner though if the current custodian (not owner) is innocent in all this.
Thieving Bar stewards as they say.

I am still looking for a reso-conversation I made will my dad in 1968. I think it got to New Zealand with someone who worked on some of the ‘Lord of the Rings’ films call Richardson? . But no joy as yet ( it does have my name in pencil written inside) . I think I posted a picture of it a few years ago. You never know, it might turn up one day Pete I would be happy to swop it for a Busker Reso, I don’t have the number of guitars Randy has but I do have a couple spare Here I am in 1977, it had a Horner pickup, an aluminium top ,a steel cover plate and a unique cone made of folded aluminium, there were no cone available that I could find so I made it based on descriptions of cones, it was not loud, but sounded fine to me at the time.

Must have been loud, Pete. Look at the guy far right - he's plugging his ears. Best of luck with your search.

Thanks Michael, I remember being filmed ( for some music documentary) at the Isle of Wight festival ( 1970, I didn’t think I took it to the 1969 one) somewhere ( on a cutting room floor) you might see me in colour and with short hair! Pete

Hi everyone this is a great article , i recommend if you ever are in tokyo a viswit to a area called ochanomizu ,,,regarding the article i was interested to see facial recognition technology used to ID a Guitar
maybe that could be used in future cases , im not sure but i know that anything that reunites lost guitars to there rightful owners cant be bad
regards to everyone
