I am new to the forum and anticipating a new to me blues 12 this week. I currently have a Johnson 14 fret brass body. It sounds great to me . After reading of the MM blues and the endorsement from the 12 th fret, It seemed like it was time. I noticed the used blue burst for sale. Didn’t see how I could go wrong. It is a 2019 model. I’m sure it will sound better than I can play it. What humidifier do you guys use with a steel body ?😳

Use an old Grateful Dead T shirt soaked in Jack Daniels. An old sack soaked in Sterno is pretty good too.

Hello Swampdigger,
Welcome to our forum and thank you for choosing a Michael Messer guitar.
You really shouldn't need any type of humidifier for a steel or brass bodied resonator guitar. Also for any wood bodied resonator guitars that are made from laminates (plywood) will be fine too.
Davey's Sterno and Jack Daniels mixture is better to drink than to use as a humidifier. One gulp of that stuff and you'll sound more authentic than you ever dreamed was possible!
Enjoy your new guitar.

Hi! I started with a Johnson 14 fret brass body, I thought it sounded pretty good too(once I took it apart and put it back together properly) Received my 12 fret MMBlues just over a week ago, I think you are in for quite treat. It’s a different level!

I certainly have to agree. I know brass and steel are different. !4 versus 12 frets but.....The Messer makes the johnson look...not so good.
