Hey all
Do any of you have any experience with 50's-60's Framus guitars, more specifically the 50/1 Sport parlour type model?
Cheers

Good little guitars.
I started out with Framii guitars all those decades ago - Framus Black Rose archtop, a little fixed bridged parlour and my first ever electric guitar, a brand new Framus Strato - so I've got a soft spot for them,
Now I'm in my dotage I look back and sometimes wonder why we were blinded by the name on the guitars headstocks. If it didn't have Fender or Gibson on the headstock we weren't interested. Living in Germany we knew nothing of Kay, Harmony, Stella, Regal...
These Framus, Hofner, Hopf etc. guitars were the cheaper European equivalents to the flash US guitars at the time.
Try one, close your eyes and let your ears and fingers make the decision - I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

My first “good” electric was a Framus TV. This was a weird looking semi which had two humbuckers, an Ebony fingerboard and sounded great. However it looked like a semi acoustic jazz master and had a fenderesque headstock. It was a big body too - so it was very odd. It was just right though for 1977! So I too have a soft spot for Framus guitars - I really liked the look of the Jan Akerman signature guitar.
