So this just popped up in my YouTube feed. Anyone know anything about them? I can’t decide what I think it looks like - a cross between a banjo and a strat?

What I know about this guitar is it's one of a number of guitars with unique appearance from a small guitar makers that Johnson is sent and he demos - they all sound good to me in his hands. Craftsmen send him from all over the world. He usually includes information about the guitar in the info section for those who are interested in learning more. His studio set up through which he demos is not included here but, going back to earlier videos he's also posted his recording equipment as well for interested viewers. It's always fun for me to see these demos - the designs and craftsmanship.
My reservations on these is that there seems to be a lack of community in players of these unique boutique instruments_ I think that is what they are called - and I think the attraction is more to the generally accepted preferred models by the larger outfits, both vintage an currently manufactured. Also the tailpiece, bridge if uniquw may be hard to replace and if the electric components were eccentrically adjusted to the specific instrument there may be issues replacing them as well.
