Anyone got any thoughts about this? the body and headstock shape look like the Regal Angelus/Model 19 from the 30's but I've never seen anything so highly decorated, and if it was from the factory it's odd that the bottom of the range model would be so decorated. reverb.com/item/32825437-vintage-red-dobro

The finish, binding, headstock veneer, and fretboard are all replacements. Dobro did make some rather fancy instruments, but they look nothing like this. Looks like somebody started with the side crack repairs and just... kept on going.

The body crack seem to indicate that the body is made from solid timber, rather than ply, and I can’t see any spider through the cover plate, so is this an old lugged cone Dobro that someone has ‘got at’ ? Pete
