Does anyone know what sort of pickup this is, and if the screw usually goes into the top of the guitar. i.imgur.com/P5DwuoP.jpg

Nothing on the back/underside? Many pickups have a centre hole, it could have been drilled for this application?

I don’t have the guitar in my possession so can’t examine more. I’d like the guitar but ideally would prefer no hole in the top.

I think it’s a safe bet that screw is through the top

Hi Kristo, as an aside, what's the guitar if that's not too nosey?! Reason for asking is the finish looks kinda like the effect I've been doing on some of my guitars. 'Spirit of ducco' I call it. Lucky you, I've been following your search for a slide electric, I've been running resonators with pickups through an electric amp, nice and dirty! Sounds good to me. For pure tone on a reso I do as is often recommended here and mike through an acoustic amp. I know that's a bit off thread but thought it might be of interest.
Best wishes to you all, John

You’ve confused me with the other Kris on the forum. She’s on the electric quest. I’ve got a Loar 301T I’m pretty pleased with for electric duties.
It’s a Beltona in the picture.
