Well I thought I had a fairly serious collection of slides and steels, but this collection of steels is quite extraordinary. The owner is Guy DeVillez I'm scanning my slide/tone bar collection for ebay. The large photo is what I'm starting with, and the other two one half of the large picture. I'm hoping to start listing them on Wednesday.
Soon this lot will be on eBay. Phew.... Shine On Michael

It makes my (what I thought was a) large collection look a little lacking, though generally I only use one at a time, so both the others stay in my pocket. Pete

The level of duplication is worrying. Now if it had been guitars I would have understood it completely and would, in fact, have been quite reasonable behaviour. But then I'm normal. R.

I've got a plectrum collection like that and I don't even use the bu88ers, only my fingers. (Bonzo - don't you say a word!)

Elsewhere on t’internet, he says: link60,000 guitar picks. That is really quite extraordinary! I guess it doesn't take up much space and it's preferable to him collecting frogs for his bathroom. When collections like those mentioned hit the market, I predict there will be a sharp decline in prices. This will be a great buying opportunity for the younger players who appreciate vintage stuff. And correspondingly, any boomers that are relying on their vintage instruments as investments will see a decline in what they will net.
There likely are dozens of collectors who as a group are holding tens of thousands of mostly mint condition vintage guitars. I recently met a fellow with literally a warehouse full of pristine vintage American guitars and amps.
Sell now? Well, I get enjoyment out of my humble vintage stuff, so my kids will have to settle for less cash when they eventually liquidate.

I want to be well known in that world! I can imagine all the wonderful chats that would happen: oooh yours is shiny, what do you use? I like a bit of residue on mine, more tone. Lol! I'm not taking the mick honestly, it's a comment from someone with 30+ art deco clocks, hundreds of Bonzo Dog post cards and more train sets than I need. Don't get me started on guitars! Lol! And I'm sure I'm not the only one on the forum who's looking at that collection of slides thinking mmmmmm......
Best wishes to you all, John
