Thanks for pitching in guys!! Michael what is your opinion of the "cleaned up" RJ stuff The Centennial collection? Jono, I am sure we have discussed this album before on here. The Centennial Collection is by far the finest Robert Johnson album available to date. The 78s used were the cleanest in existence and then the cleaning up and pitch correction was brilliant and sensitively done. No other Robert Johnson album comes close. Shine On Michael

Completely off subject...
Due to my fat fingers causing major problems with my electronic organizing system, I've resurrected my old Filofax personal organizer. I use my old Waterman pen with it, too.
Bit akin to digital vs vinyl I suppose...

I think that the various contributions to this thread have answered Jono's enquiry already. I reckon that I can speak for Jono in saying that the forking of the thread is worth it provided the thread context is maintained? I find it fascinating even though I'm no "vinyl junkie".

John, If you haven't heard the Robert Johnson Centennial Collection you really should, it is by far the best quality release to date. That Columbia Roots & Blues album is far too middly and nasal, and the speed/pitch is not corrected. I don't know if it is available on vinyl, but whichever format it will be superior to the Columbia Roots & Blues one.
That Lowell Fulson on Swing Time is beautiful!

Hi Michael, I did have a look for the centennial album online as you had mentioned it to jono earlier in the thread. It seems it was issued as a limited edition to coincide with record shop day 2017. Not cheap but there is an unopened copy.
Best wishes to you all, John
