Have just come across this little gem. Have strung with gut strings though the tailpiece might indicate steel? Pete Once again technology has defeated me, will try to get a younger person to make the picture appear tomorrow!

Tenor Uke then. concert ukes have 15” scale, tenors 17” (or thereabouts)

It’s a well made instrument, solid timber through out I think. Any ideas on correct strings? As I posted the tailpiece looks like it was made for ball ends. Pete

Tenor Worth CD, you can wrap like classical or make knots, the package comes double length, so barring mistakes, you will have enough for a restring. CD are slightly higher tension, and it being what it is, I think you may need that to drive the soundboard. Nice find
