I plan to visit it has become my annual show as largely cannot be bothered with guitar shows but on a clear run I am there in half an hour. Do not forget the clocks go funny tonight so it starts at 10 AM but your body clock will tell you it,s 11.
Regards

A pity this didn't come to my attention sooner because I could have wriggled out of a mind numbingly boring family birthday pub lunch. Still, at least I won't need any ear plugs!

I’ll be at the slide stand with a look of excitement and puzzlement written all over my face!
In a bit :-)

I witnessed Lewis crossing Ian's palm with silver so new slides are in situ.
The show was a little thin on the ground from previous years, also today the M3 leading towards the M25 was in meltdown so that would not have helped attendance. Good to meet Lewis in the flesh & Johno1UK.
There was an overpriced style O for £4000!! but on another stall a reasonably priced Oahu lap steel, the dealer was not happy when I pointed out the neck was too narrow almost at tenor dimensions, he advised that was because it was vintage !! luckily I had my Aussie Maxim lap steel with me (another story) this seemed to stop his patter promptly. Not sure if it just me but at these shows I normally end up upsetting someone when I point out the obvious. Back to Ebay I guess.... Lee

Sorry Jono I was briefly chatting with Lewis at Diamond bottlenecks reverse cashpoint and thought you were his wingman....
Never mind we were there in spirit.

Ha. Nice to meet you too Lee, and sorry if I was a bit distracted - you know what I’m like with small tubes. My incredibly patient & supportive wingman was Andrew aka Uatru, who up until the very end had splashed out on more glass than me! Thank you Ian for putting up with me. The slides are well gorge innit. The greeny aqua pieces are very smart indeed :-)
I agree with Lee in the sense that I too was a bit underwhelmed, but then what do I know as it was my first time. It was good to bump into Jono too...Hope your modded amp gets sorted.
Best regards
Lewis

From previous trips there were more stalls, luthiers, and individual manufacturers. I found it a bit thin on the ground, also as previously discussed the attendance was hampered by the good old M3 Anyway I have just snagged another guitar in Canada so I am not too disappointed by yesterday's show.
